Pysanky....the language of the ancient
ones. The Ukrainian people have decorated eggs for centuries. As pagan worshipers they covered
the eggs with symbols of spring and harvest. Christianity was introduced around 1000 A.D. Now the Ukrainians
used symbols to represent God and His creation. The symbols and colors tell a story.
I am proud share my heritage with others.
My grandmother passed away before I was born. Some kind Ukrainian ladies took time to show me how to decorate
the eggs. Now I am able to teach and share with others the art of the pysanky.
